Outreach Work

The society has over the past few years done many talks to external groups. These include several schools in and around the Sheffield area, local scouts/guides groups and other community groups.

For a modest fee, our volunteers can present several talks, using animations, 3D images and computer graphics. Small portable telescopes can also be brought to your venue for use if the sky is clear. The evening's entertainment can be tailored to the group's needs.

We can also bring along a small "shop" where we sell small items of very competitively priced astronomy related items.

All proceeds from the outreach work and shop go to society funds. Sheffield Astronomical Society is a registered charity (no. 1106012)

Watch out for more images of some of our past outreach work coming to this page soon.

If you would like to book us for an evening at your group, please contact the Secretary, Darren Swindells on 0114-269-2291 (Evenings and Weekends)
